Golf courses pushing rentals n Delhi and NCR
In a country where Cricket is considered as the religion and the noted players of cricket are considered not less than as God, surprisingly elitist Golf Courses rather cricket grounds are playing key role in pushing the prices of rentals of areas close to sprawling golf courses in Delhi and NCR. As it is not enough, the landlords having nice house easily find tenants of their choice. Of course, those who prefer to live in the close proximity with golf courses are more often than not a top-notch executives of MNCs or Indian companies, diplomats and officials of organizations like World Bank, Unicef and Red Cross.
For instance, areas close to 1931 built Delhi golf course like Golf Link, Nizamuddin, Defence colony, Sunder Nagar always remain in great demand. Davinder Gupta, realtor and ceo of real-estate advisory, Century 21 India informs that very often they are told by those who are looking for rented accommodations that they want these particular areas as they are very close to Delhi Golf Course and they love to play there. All these areas are situated at a shouting distance from it. There is no doubt that playing golf or watching the exploits of the likes of Ali Sher, Kapil Dev (he is very regular here), Rohtas Kumar and many more are magical.
Those who know about it say that the Delhi Golf course is also a sanctuary for over 3OO species of birds, and the golfer is often startled by the rain dance of the colourful peacock. Planted with a variety of over 200 trees, the Delhi course is the most lush in the country. Many people also become member of this club as it has very nice bar and restaurant too, says Anu Gupta of DGS Realtors. ” As Delhi golf course is very exclusive place, only those who can afford to take rented house up to Rs 1.50 lakh or above look out for houses in areas like Golf Link, Sunder Nagar, Nizamuddin,” says Anu Gupta
The 18-hole Qutub Golf course in Lado Sarai is the only public golf course in India. It is developed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). Again due to this one reason, many residents from areas like Saket, Sarvpriya Vihar, Geetanjli Enclave and other nearby areas visit there to play. Sandeep Wahi, who has a house in Saket, admits that due to the close proximity with Lado Sarai course, they hardly find any problem in finding their new tenant. ” I have observed more than once, people love to live in our area as they are keen golf lovers. They go there on weekends. As DDA has done really fantastic job in developing it, people do not mind paying little more money as rent in return of living here,” WAHI informs. DDA officials clams that their course is second to none in terms of maintenance. Their claim hardly looks misplaced once you go there. It is wonderful course by any standards. Apart from these two, the capital has also Army Golf Course at Dhaula Kuan. It is, however, only for those who have the background of Army. It is a different matter that many ex-service men do not go there due to distance factor. An ex-army man and now Chairman of the Premier shield Risk management Services, Pawanjit Ahluwalia says that as he lives in South Delhi, he goes to Lado sarai Golf Course rather than Army Golf Course. There our many old colleagues visit and we spend some good quality time with them on weekends, says Pawanjit.
If you go out of Delhi for NCR, Japypee Greens golf course in Noida is great. It is operational since 2000. It was designed by great golfer Greg Norman. Then there few courses in Gurgaon including DLF Golf course. Anil Makhijan of Mak Realtors says that as NCR towns are bustling with activities, many people prefer to purchase house or rented one near such courses. We too try to market some property with this argument that it is close to course. With massive greenery, it would suit you. And, our argument convinces our customer.
