Gate of your house or apartment is the first thing that makes a lasting impression on all those who visit your place to meet you. While it is not easy to find the exact reason, it seems that now people try to erect different gates for security reasons. They also build high walls compare to earlier times when the walls of the homes used to be very small,not more than five feet.

Nazma Rizvi, who used to teach at capital’s School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), says contemporary and classic styled gates have many takers. There have been cases where house owners have completed the gate and compound wall for Rs.5 lakh.
